ATTORNEY GRIEVANCE COMM'N v. YOUNG

Issue: What sanction should the Court impose upon an attorney who contracted to perform work on the homes of a number of individuals without a valid home improvement license?

Holding: By holding himself out as a home improvement contractor without first obtaining the required license, by intentionally misrepresenting to Bar Counsel that he possessed a proper home improvement license in his own name and that he was working under his brother's license with his brother's permission, and by threatening to file frivolous lawsuits against two consumers, this lawyer harmed the public's confidence in the integrity of the legal profession and exhibited an intentional dishonesty warranting disbarment.

Alleged Violations: Maryland Lawyers' Rules of Professional Conduct ("MLRPC") 8.1(a) and (b) (bar admission and disciplinary matters) and 8.4(a), (b), (c), and (d) (misconduct).
